What happens After May 7th, 2012?

If you missed the May 7th deadline to hire Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP), it is still not too late to retain one.  The steps to hiring an LSRP are simple:

1.    Contact an LSRP.  The LSRPs at Prestige Environmental are familiar with the “Site Remediation Reform Act”.  We have the authority to investigate and remediate contaminated sites. Our LSRPs will meet with you, and hold your hand through complex regulations while achieving compliance. Call us today for a free consultation!
2.    Once you hire an LSRP, an LSRP retention form will be filed by the LSRP with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).  YOU MUST HIRE AN LSRP AND CONTRACTUAL ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE PRIORT TO FILING THE FORM
3.    By taking these first two steps, you can avoid hefty enforcement actions that may include sizable penalties and fines.

The NJDEP is levying penalties and fines for those who did not hire an LSRP by May 7th.  Even though the deadline has passed, you can take the proactive actions necessary and hire an LSRP.  After all, the entire basis behind the SRRA act is to safeguard “protection of human health and the environment”.

By engaging the services of an LSRP your site remediation will proceed rather quickly.  Prior to the act, the NJDEP had to conduct drawn-out assessments.  But by putting the control in the hands of LSRPs, your remediation project will adhere to regulations that suit the specific needs of your project.  Remember, an LSRP has the ability to investigate, remediate, and issue a “Response Action Outcome” (RAO) closure document which is equivalent to a NJDEP issued, “No Further Action” (NFA) letter.

Prestige Environmental takes pride in our LSRP team.  Each LSRP is an expert on the program and can guide you to take advantage of opportunities stemming from the new NJDEP guidelines.  Contact us today for a free evaluation; we can answer all your questions regarding the deadline and the LSRP program.
